We need to, and we will, design our way out of the problem from its root by making sure that new products are made and used in ways that prevent them from ever becoming waste. But first — right here and now — we have to find smart ways to make use of the immense amount of waste we have already generated and will most likely continue to create in the transition period to a circular economy that's why I have a particular focus on resource innovations where waste is turned back into value and kept in circulation.

Composite plastic

Re-Plastic is a spin-off created by Lendager The Circular Way. For international brewery Carlsberg Group we found new use for the used plastic composite kegs that would otherwise have been incinerated. Instead by the principles of circular design we designed products and the value chain to ensure the waste stream is recycled into both chairs, tables and facade elements reducing both co2 emission and waste. Synthetic textiles

Textiles and in particular the huge amount of synthetic textiles is a grand global problem by designing The Circular Way we have been able to turn the waste stream back into value as beautiful high performing acoustic panels. Proving that design The Circular Way enables improved environmental performance without compromising on price, quality or aesthetics.
